I've just had fantastic news from our alpine department supervisor. He's just cleared out all the unwanted tools from their shed and brought them over to us for recycling. If you've ever looked at that broken fork in your shed and reminded yourself to repair it (was it 2 years ago you said that?), then please let us help you out. On behalf of The Conservation Foundation, we collect old, broken garden hand tools - from our staff, customers and now, I hope, from you. They're whisked away to the prison workshops at HMP Wandsworth where the prisoners refurbish them and send them off to a renewed working life in local schools and community projects. Here's a pic of some very happy school children with their refurbished tools.
Tools Shed helps equip the next generation of gardeners, reduces waste and provides practical skills for prisoners. So please spring clean your shed and bring your unwanted tools to Wisley Plant Centre. We'll even give you 10% off new tools from our fab range in store! (including tools by Bulldog with their environmentally friendly, FSC certified ash handles.) More on the recycled tools project.
