There is usually a point in a large project when the full gravity of the undertaking hits home. This time it’s been a bit different. Perhaps waves would be a good description; small waves of concern interspersed with larger waves of panic, all wrapped up in an extremely thin veneer of total confidence and self assurance.

It’s a strange combination of feelings; on the one hand believing strongly, even passionately in your design and concept, and on the other, shot to pieces with insecurity and self-doubt. I suppose that’s why so many creative people go off the rails, Oscar Wilde and Tony Hancock being notable examples.

Don’t worry about me though. I remain serene and swan-like as I paddle frantically upstream.

I now have to admit that I have failed miserably to weave any soft, quilty, velvet luxury into this post. Oh well, can’t win them all!
