Real progress

Posted by Sue Beesley on 26 Jun 2007 at 10:49 PM

Monday's torrential downpour confined me to indoor tasks for the day.  I am not good at sticking to one thing - my instinct is to work on five things at once (and finish none of them, of course) so having no option but to paint the fence was painful, but productive.  It's all ready for assembly on Friday.

The planted seat to go under the fig tree is taking shape at last but I want it circular to match the paving and was getting nowhere with the edging material.  I'd messed about with bendy plastic, aluminium sheet, mdf and ply without joy and then Debbie hit on the idea of lead flashing.  It's the perfect answer - flexible, attractive and grey.  Here's the fig tree seat as of today with its temporary plastic edging - very much a work in progress - but we know where we are going with it now.
