Wisley's Sleeping Beauty comes into full bloom

Posted by Sara Draycott on 09 Jan 2012 at 12:34 PM

Known as Sleeping beauty here at Wisley, our Tabebuia impetiginosa, ‘Pink Trumpet Tree’ or Pau d’Arco has produced an amazing canopy of flower this year, far more than in previous years. This has been achieved by simulating its Central/South American natural habitat and allowing our potted specimen a dry rest period. “We are particularly proud of it” said Peter of the Glasshouse Team. It’s located up on the terrace in the Tropical Zone of the Glasshouse - come and have a look!
