Our fantastic family picnic and play area, ‘The Brash’, was officially opened on 27 May, with children pouring into the fabulous hideaway in the woods despite the heavy rain!

Children and their parents donned their raincoats and wellies, and had a great time playing and picnicking in the brilliant new family area, which features log stepping stones, giant bugs, dens, bird feeding stations and much more.

Fun on the log stepping stones!

The picnic tables were made from a large beech tree which had to be chopped down a few years ago.

The huge sand pit was one of the most popular features, with even the offer of a free hot dog failing to lure the kids away!

Rosemoor's Head of Site, Sally Charleton, officially opened The Brash with a short speech and a ribbon cutting ceremony, and everyone was invited to enjoy a free 'banger' in the marquee after they had finished playing.

We have already received lots of positive comments about the area, and children have been invited to feed in their ideas for future developments.

Katrina Hutchinson and her dad Jonathan enjoy the den!
