Rosemoor’s new family picnic area – The Brash

Posted by Rosemoor Garden on 09 Jan 2009 at 01:33 PM

Work is now well under way to create an area designated as a family picnic and play area, situated in the woodland just south of the Foliage Garden in the Formal Garden, which will be known as 'The Brash'.

The area is being developed for informal play and picnicking in a woodland setting; the new entrance from the Formal Garden created through the hedge bank will also provide a link to the tracks in the Lower Woodland Walk. The picnic area will have a ‘floor’ of bark chippings, with rustic seating and a children's area created from felled or fallen timber from our woodlands.

The Brash will be officially opened by Sally Charleton, Head of Site at Rosemoor at 1pm on Wednesday 27 May 2009.
