Pumpkins Galore at Rosemoor!

Posted by Rosemoor Garden on 28 Oct 2008 at 11:39 AM

A great time was had by all at Rosemoor’s Pumpkin Day last Sunday (26 October), with over 500 visitors gathering to see the judging of the famous pumpkin competition, take part in pumpkin trails, make lanterns, watch pumpkin cookery demonstrations and have a go on the pumpkin shy! Everyone also had a go at drawing pumpkins as part of the National Big Draw event. The restaurant even joined in the pumpkin theme, serving some delicious pumpkin meals including pumpkin risotto and pumpkin cream pie – yum!

There were 5 classes in this year’s pumpkin competition– Heaviest Pumpkin, Smallest Pumpkin, Ugliest Faced Pumpkin, Wackiest Pumpkin and Best Lantern, and there were some brilliant entries including a Cinderella Pumpkin and an OAP Rocker Pumpkin! All winners won a rosette and a bag of bulbs to plant in their garden.
