Rosemoor Garden RHS Garden Rosemoor

Set deep in the beautiful North Devon Countryside, RHS Garden Rosemoor was gifted to the RHS in 1988 by Lady Anne Berry, and since then the original eight acres have been greatly developed into 65 acres of enchanting garden and woodlands. In this blog, we will keep you updated with what's going on in the garden and what's looking good when, as well as letting you know about the exciting programme of events we are holding throughout the year. Enjoy!

Going Apple Mad at Rosemoor!

Posted by Rosemoor Garden on 17 Oct 2008 at 12:34 PM

We all had a great time at Rosemoor's Apple Day last Sunday (12 October). The weather couldn't have been better and around 1,400 visitors gathered to learn about apples, see cookery demonstrations, have mystery apples identified and take part in apple pressing and workshops. There was even a crab apple mosaic in the form of the RHS logo, designed and made by Senior Garden Supervisor Peter Earl from a selection of Rosemoor's own apples!

The annual Apple Day is one of our biggest events, and this year the sun shone on us, making it a perfect day! We were also joined by two Gloucester Old Spot pigs, which were popular with the children! A competition to name the pigs was won by Katie Scott of Bideford who came up with the names Russett and Pippin, two types of apple!
