The summer holidays are nearly upon us, so why not grab your sunhat (or wellies judging by the weather at the moment!), come along to stunning RHS Garden Rosemoor in Great Torrington and enjoy a fun filled family day out!
Parents will know that after just a couple of days into the school holidays, the kids start to complain about being bored! So to keep them (and you) happy and entertained, Rosemoor has put together a fun packed calendar of family events for the summer, all of which promise not to eat too far into your budget with the entry cost to Rosemoor being just £2 for children aged 6 to 16 - under 6’s can come in free of charge!
Come along to Beatrix Potter’s Birthday Party on Monday 28 July. She would have been 142 today, so we are holding a party and everyone is invited! Children can even dress up as their favourite Beatrix Potter character to come into the garden free of charge. On Saturday 2 August (7pm) you can enjoy a fabulous interactive performance of Peter Pan*, staged in the open air by Heartbreak Productions, and don’t worry - if it’s raining the event will be held in our heated marquee! There are two Family Fun Days on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 20 August where the children can get up close and personal with snakes and spiders, enjoy storytelling and puppet shows and take part in trails and workshops. Don’t forget about our Vegetable Heads Workshops*, held at 10am, 12.00 or 2.30pm on Wednesday 13 August, where they can make characters out of veg! If that’s not enough, budding young photographers can try their hand at capturing that perfect image to be in with a chance of being the RHS Young Photographer of the Year and winning a top of the range digital camera! The competition is open for entries until 26 September 2008, so why not spend your summer days snapping sunflowers, red hot pokers and dancing butterflies to be in with a chance of winning.
