Both plants and volunteers suffered in yesterday's heat at Wisley. Ducking into the shade, Judi (above) and Carolyn (below) modelled their sunhats for the camera.
For lunch, we'd arranged to meet up with a couple of old faces and one very new one in the Wisley cafe. Kathy and Linda have both helped volunteer for the Plants for Bugs project in the past but stayed in touch so it was super to see them. The newest arrival is Kathy's 5 month old; baby Barnaby. We celebrated the occasion with a 'cheeky caterpillar cake'.

After setting pitfall traps, watering was the order of the day. Some of the recent plantings such as the fuchsia below were looking decidedly thirsty. Madness, considering all the rain we've had this season.
