Surrey Police training helicopter landing in Wisley Village Sport's Field next to Plants for Bugs
It was all excitement down on the plots at the end of last week when a police helicopter started hovering very low over the Deer's Farm Plants for Bugs plot site in Wisley Village. As we were in the process of taking overhead photos of the beds from our 12ft ladder it was a bit of a worry - firstly, did they think we were up to some suspect business? and secondly, if they came any lower would we be blown off the ladder?!
Thankfully it turned out they were performing some sort of training excercise, landing the helicopter in the adjacent sport's field. Other than some funny looks when we walked past with the ladder, they didn't seem too concerned at our 'dodgy surveillance activities'.
Here's Judi and Sarah leaving the plot - if you look closely you can see the helicopter and a group of police people in flourescent yellow jackets in the back right of the shot;

And you might like to see the overview of the beds taken from half way up the ladder;
