What An Experience!

Well I have finally got back on top of everything after my stay in London. I built my first garden at the Chelsea Flower (Urban Category), and received a Bronze Medal, which I am extremely proud of.

The weather was fantastic during both the build and the show period, but when it came time to break the garden down the heavens opened, and all the tools, equipment, materials came back dirty and very wet! As did the Outer Spaces team. It was one of the projects where everything that could possibley go wrong, DID! We overcame the problems, and built a fantastic garden, that I was extremely happy with, (and as usual) sad to breakdown.

Being a Tatton Girl at heart, Chelsea was a different experience, but a brilliant one none the less. Surrounded by all the top Garden Designers, and meeting people like Chris Bearshaw, Cleve West, Andy Sturgeon etc and actually seeing them just as dirty and stressed out as I was. The garden generated lots of publicity and we had hords of people gathering around the plot each day. WOW! Lets just say - I hope that this garden is not my last at the famous Chelsea Flower Show!

Anyway, looking forward to July, I have a Back to Back Garden, and a Show Garden to finalise at Tatton Park. I can't wait to get there! It is so sad knocking a garden down, so I have really thrown myself into Tatton Park. We are currently having lots of meetings regarding the Show Garden and the construction behind the natural swimming pool. After many sleepless nights I have decided to change one of the features within the garden and therefore need to accomodate the alterations. The Back to Back garden is not causing as much stress, but will no doubt keep me on my toes once we get on site.

So far this year I have had a great time, and me and my team can't wait to get back on a show ground and show those judges exactly what we have learnt and taken on board from their comments.
