A rather belated 'thank you' to all who voted the Girlguiding UK Centenary Garden at Hampton Court Show the People's Choice Award Best Show Garden! I'm still walking on roses and beaming with joy, one month on

Breakdown for the garden was quick with everything signed off three days after the show had finished. However, amazed to hear from Garden Care, landscape contractors for the garden, that they couldn't use diggers for Breakdown. Apparently, everything had to be dug out manually including rather a lot of concrete footings. Well done chaps! Lots of plants were sold on the last day of the show with some of the big structures and the trees going off to Girlguiding UK activity sites afterwards. Great: show gardens have to live on after their shows.
My own personal batteries are nearly re-charged now having done major gardens at both Chelsea and Hampton this year (phew!). My garden at home in Cambridgeshire is even receiving my utmost attention, and is very grateful for this.
Plans for a show garden in 2011? Watch this space....
