Who's growing the tallest Sunflower for the Girlguiding UK Garden?

Rainbows, Brownies and Guides across the country planted sunflower seeds a few weeks ago with the hope that their flower will be included in Girlguiding UK's Hampton Court Garden.  As the girls start to report back on their progress it seems there has been varying levels of success!

1st Oatlands Guides have planted a lot of seeds.  One Guide has had a few problems with her sunflowers:  One died and a bug ate most of the other one!  Luckily she's grown some more seeds that are growing well.

Goldsworth Park Brownies have planted lots of seeds; so far 16 have germinated and are currently two feet tall.  Brown Owl and the girls are very pleased with the progress of the flowers so far, fingers crossed they continue to grow and eventually flower.

5th Bansted Brownies seeds have germinated and are growing well.  There was a slight delay in getting the seeds going as Brown Owl was stuck on holiday due to the volcanic ash cloud!  Hopefully she was back in time to ensure the sunflowers will flower with perfect timing for the garden.

A Guide from the 1st Oatlands Guides has had to have planted a second batch of seeds as a squirrel took a liking to her first batch!  Luckily the second batch are growing super fast.
