Fireworks in the Glasshouse

Posted by Jim Gardiner on 11 Nov 2008 at 08:33 PM

“Remember, remember the 5th of November”.  It works for fireworks, and it works for the wonderful Wisley chrysanthemum display.  Every year, the team in the Glasshouse work tirelessly to put together a breathtaking display of colour and shape comprising chrysanthemums.

Some are compact, some seem to almost explode!.  Some grow tall in pots, some cascade from up high.

Come and enjoy the show this month.  They’ll be on display until the end of the month.  And what will follow…?  Christmastime in the Glasshouse will include giant Tillandsia baubles, bells fashioned from ivy, poinsettias, anthuriums, paperwhites and more.  Father Christmas will be in residence, and we’ll have a display to celebrate the “12 days of Christmas”.  And, we’re really excited to bring you news of our first ever tropical butterfly experience which will run in the new year, followed by orchids in March/April.  Keep an eye out for more details.

Meanwhile, the rainy days have been interspersed with some gloriously sunny days, and the autumn foliage show continues. There is so much to see here!
