Phew-sha – what a show!

It comes to us now just once a year, but when it does, it does it with a bang.  Last week we held our annual Flower Show on Seven Acres at Wisley.  The theme was fuchsias, and we had them inside, outside, all over.  This tied in nicely with those that greet you as you approach the Garden from the the car park, guide you up past the Canal, and dazzle you in the Glasshouse.

Inside and outside the marquee we had numerous stalls and exhibits.  The fragrance from the lilies was overwhelming in the centre of the marquee.

I am particularly proud of the display put up by our Fruit and Trials Department.  So attractive, and oh, so mouthwatering!

The Horticultural Advisors were on hand to answer all manner of questions too.

And then there was the shopping and eating to be done!

The sun didn’t shine too much, but the rain stayed away, and the visitors were attracted in vast numbers for a great day out.  A real bonus – coming for the Show and then having the entire Garden to explore too.  Don’t forget to come next August.

Thank you to our show sponsors, exhibitors, Wisley staff and everyone involved who made the whole thing a fantastic success.
