It's a great show

Isn't it lovely when everyone has such positive things to say about something. Normally the news is full of doom and gloom but just about everybody I spoke to at Chelsea this week had only positive things to say about it. Even if it had been raining, too windy or if they were suffering from the pollen which blights the show for many visitors.

Lawrence and Alice Dallaglio were happy to stop and share their views despite the threat of the rain.

"We liked the Laurent-Perrier garden but we are a bit biased because we know a few people involved, but it was very very nice," Lawrence told me.

"We've been every year, but this is the first time we've had the chance to spend a bit more time here rather than rushing in and out so we've been able to look around."

"It's looking great. Seems to be a bit smaller and everything seems a bit scaled down which I think is a reflection of the way life is at the moment."

And like many visitors to the world's greatest flower show they too were looking for ideas for their garden.

"We've got a big garden in Richmond and it's nice to get a bit of inspiration. We have a gardener that helps us out and we say well we'd like this and he says well you've got to get the names."
