Ian LeGros Curator RHS Garden Hyde Hall

I joined the Hyde Hall team as an untrained assistant gardener in 1992, was promoted to Garden Superintendent in April 2005 and then to Curator in June 2006. Over the years I have been lucky enough to play a lead role in many of Hyde Hall’s landmark projects including setting out the Farmhouse Garden, the redevelopment of the Queen Mother’s Garden, and the creation of the Millennium Avenue and Wild Wood. Most recently I helped to co-design the new Robinson Garden which was opened in 2007.

    There's lots going on this Easter at Hyde Hall...

    • Art exhibition by Francoise Sergy entitled "Hop, Stock & Bent".  This photography exhibition tells the stories of five common plants; Hops, Scented Stocks, Bent Grasses, the Spindle Tree and London Plane.  The exhibition runs between 4 - 19 April.

  • Power Outage - Wednesday 25 March 2009

    Please note that on Wednesday 25 March, EDF will be carrying out essential maintenance work to overhead cables and we will therefore be without power for the day.   

    The garden will be open as normal, but please be aware that the Barn Restaurant will only be serving a limited menu consiting of cold bottled drinks, sandwiches and cake.  We regret that we are unable to provide hot food or drinks. Read More...

  • RHS Photographic Exhibition

    Prize winning images from the 2008 RHS Photographic Exhibition are now on display in the Information Centre at Hyde Hall.

    These prize winning images were selected from over 4,500 entries submitted to the RHS Photographic Competition, by professional and amateur photographers throughout 2008

  • How to get to Hyde Hall

    If you have visited the garden in the last couple of weeks you will know that we are now using our new access road known as "Westerns Approach", postcode CM3 8AT.

    All brown tourism signage has been updated and temporary diversion signs are in place.  So just to confirm the directions are:
