Muck in on Sat 5 December and plant your very own tree as part of a Guiness World Record attempt between 11am & 12 noon.

On 5 December the BBC are making two world record breaking attempts; the most number of trees planted in one location in one hour and the most number of trees planted in multiple locations in one hour.

The garden will remain open as normal and no charge will be made.

Hyde Hall - Mobility Vehicle

If you have visited the garden recently you will know that we now have a mobility vehicle to assist less-abled visitors reach the Hilltop Garden. The bus is operated by a team of wonderful volunteers who run the service seven days a week.

To help staff and volunteers manage the service to the best of their ability we will be carrying out some driver training and unfortunately this means that the vehicle will be out of service for a three day period - Monday 28 Sept to Wed 30 Sept inclusive.

Be one of the first to try out the new Hyde Hall Visitor Centre this weekend and experience first hand our new plant centre, gift shop and cafe.

If you come along on Saturday 29 August we will also have 'The Buggets' to keep you entertained.

This week staff are busily stocking the shelves of the new gift shop where there will be a much improved range of products on offer.

Outside the plant centre is also finished and ready to receive plants!

Please note that to allow the relocation of the shop and plant centre to the new visitor centre building, the current facilities will cease trading at close of play on Sunday 16 August 2009.

The new shop and plant centre will then begin trading on Monday 24 August 2009.

On Thursday 2 July 2009, the RHS Annual General Meeting will be held at Hyde Hall.

Prior to the meeting we have a number of exclusive member-only events for your enjoyment and entertainment.

Essential maintenance from Mon 22 June & site closure day on Thu 25 June

Please note that from week beginning Mon 22 - Fri 26 June we will be carrying out essential maintenance and during this period visitors will be signed to a temporary access route.

We are delighted to say that the final surface to the new entrance road will be applied this week, which should make your journey into the garden a fair more pleasant experience! We are aware that the base layer was uneven and dusty - so thank you for your patience! While the work is ongoing visitors will enter the garden via the Water Treatment Access Road in Buckhatch Lane. Diversion signs will be in place.
