&lt;p&gt;I am wanting to plant a hedge but have found a large concrete slab about 4 inches below ground level. I am 71 years old and cannot tackle the job of breaking and removing concrete. Can you tell me if hedging plants can be grown from pots or troughs to a size which will form a thick hedge? Any advice on this problem would be much appreciated. Thank you. J. Finn.&lt;/p&gt;
