Do you work with pupils with Special Educational Needs and would like some practical ideas to link learning with gardening? Then why not book yourself a place on one of our Gardening with SEN Pupils training days at RHS Wisley and RHS Harlow Carr.
These full training days will be run by myself and SEN Schools Project Officer (North), Sarah-Jane Mason, and will packed full of practical hints and tips to make the most of the garden especially for SEN pupils.
Topics to be covered include:
- Tool health and safety and specialist equipment
- Garden styles & ideas
- Poisonous plants
- Seed sowing practical activities
- Linking gardening to Personalised Learning Plans & Curriculum
- Ideas for less -practical gardening on a budget
The training days are as follows:
RHS Wisley - Wednesday 6th April - only 1 place left!!
RHS Harlow Carr - Wednesday 11th May - 12 places left

The RHS, in conjunction with Growing Schools, offers an extensive CPD programme running at gardens and education centres throughout the country. If you cannot make the SEN training days or are interested in other garden topics visit the CPD pages for the timetable of events. There are plenty of different courses in a wide variety of locations with places still available in the summer term.
