Harlow Carr Gardeners

As the most northerly of the RHS Gardens, Harlow Carr celebrates its Yorkshire character and charm. Along with innovative design and creative planting, the 58 acres has wonderful variety from sweeping lawns, woodland, water, colourful borders to its more relaxed flower meadows. In this blog we will keep you updated with what’s going on in the garden and what’s looking good when, as well as letting you know about the exciting programme of events throughout the year. It would be great to hear back from you too!

RHS Garden Harlow Carr’s Free Day Friday on 4th March provides a rare opportunity to visit this inspirational 58 acre garden for free for one day only!

Enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the garden as it steps into spring. The RHS gardeners recommend that visitors take a look at the awe-inspiring Winter Walk with its newly emerging bulbs and stunning colourful combinations of fiery red and yellow texture mixed with softer lilacs and pinks. The snowdrops dotted around the woodland area are a seasonal pleasure and that spring favourite, rhododendrons, are beginning to bloom. For the more productive gardener, the newly extended Kitchen Garden has a fine display of rhubarb, and the Alpine House provides unusual added interest.  Free Day Friday also presents the perfect opportunity to discover the many advantages of becoming an RHS member, including access to all four RHS gardens, absolutely free for the member and a family guest, for a full year! And now is the perfect time to join, as anyone paying by Direct Debit can receive 12 months membership for the price of 9!
