BFA Stand wins a Silver Gilt Medal at Gardeners World Live

Posted by Dennis van Wonderen on 11 Jun 2008 at 10:22 PM

It's been a couple of weeks since Chelsea and after winning our first ever Bronze Grenfell medal for our stand at the Chelsea Flower Show I told you all to watch this space as we would be going 'onwards and upwards' and I am pleased to inform you that I have managed to make that statement a reality!

To say that we were pleased with our Silver Gilt Medal for our stand at Gardeners World Live would be an understatement as the screams of delight were able to be heard in Solihull and beyond! Thrilled to bits and over the moon are just a few phrases that I can use to describe how pleased we all are with our result.

For those of you visiting the show you will be able to see the stand for yourself in the plant hall, it's the second central feature in the middle of the walkway. Our theme has remained the same as at Chelsea and some of the designers have returned to recreate their exhibit for GWL. You will be able to see dressed designed and created by van Wonderen Flowers, hats designed and created by The Tomlinson Flower Company and shoes designed and created by Urban Design.

A BIG thank you goes out to all the participants in created a beautiful stand that we can all be proud of. The planning has already begun now for next year and I have said it once already but will say it again, it's still going to be a matter of wacthing this space, we will continue to go onwards and upwards. The sky is the limit as they say, being 6ft6 tall I am quite close to it before we start! ;-)

Visitors to the show will be able to vote for their favourite and by doing so you will be entered into our FREE prize draw. The lucky winner will receive a bouquet of flowers delivered to their front door each month for a whole year by their local BFA member. More details about the competition can be found on

Right, off to bed now as I will be back on the old M40 in the morning to man the stand. If you do manage to make it along to the NEC, pop in and say hi. You never know, you might even win our free prize draw!!
