Top 10 kids' gardening gifts for Christmas

I know it's November, and some of you Christmas purists will think this is too early, but quite frankly I don't care.  It's getting chilly outside, I've had enough of bulb planting and I'm very much in need of a good old-fashioned mid-winter festival.  So here we go, my top 10 garden gifts for kids this Christmas*.

1. Garden Rocking Horse (see above) £78.95 - made from a recycled aircraft tyre and perfect for attaching to the bough of a tree

2. Frogitat House £12.99 - a ceramic frog and toad house which almost looks too good to be used

3. Wooden Nightingale Bird Call £6.45 - no not something to call wooden nightingales, but a bird call simulator made from wood

4. Set of Three Vegetable Patio Planters £14.95 - bright and colourful with photos of real veg to decorate the sides, these fold flat for storage and can be reused every year

5. Solar Insect Theatre £29.99 - automatically lights up at night to attract moths, lacewings, butterflies and other insects into the theatre for kids to see, study and release the next day

6. Pink Trug £12.00 - it's pink - what's not to love?

7. Wooden Three Tier Herb Pot Stand £38.00 - OK, so it's not aimed at kids, but it's the perfect height and a great way to show off what they've been growing

8. Bronze Snail Watering Can £19.99 - Pricey, but a lot more interesting than most children's watering cans

9. Wooden Garden Limbo Set £19.99 - because, who doesn't like to limbo?

10. Children's Metal Wheelbarrow £16.00 - it's always good to have a bit of child labour when shifting compost, so why not provide them with the tool for the job

*I would like to point out that I have received no bribery, free gifts, blogger discounts or any other benefits from websites or manufacturers featured above.  Damn them!  Seriously, I don't think anyone's tried to corrupt me since that strange Swedish bloke in my year out.  I'm most disappointed.
