Rosemoor's rose season is really creeping up on us now, and it will only be a week or so before the roses are out in full bloom and the glorious scent of over 2,000 roses from more than 200 cultivars fills the air!

At Rosemoor, we have one of the largest collections of roses in the West Country, from modern roses through to shrubs, species and climbers, having proved the rumour that roses could not grow in the South West incorrect! Our rose gardens demonstrate that a combination of careful choice of varieties and the correct growing methods can result in success even under West Country conditions.
The roses in the Shrub Rose Garden are coming along nicely and will bloom before the more formal varieties in the Queen Mother's Rose Garden, but all will be celebrated at their flowering peak at Rosemoor's popular Rose Weekend on 21 and 22 June (from 10am - 5pm). Whether you grow roses already and would like to know more about them, or need some advice on choosing roses for your garden, Rose Weekend is not to be missed. Highlights of the weekend will include talks, walks and advice, as well as special rose-themed trails for children.
