Cold and wet

Posted by Alexandra Denman on 03 May 2010 at 04:10 PM

How the rain fell yesterday. Work still continued on site, even if it was at a slower pace. Coming on site at 7am this morning it was freezing cold – you would never have thought it was May. The ground looked ok but to prevent it getting rutted and becoming a quad mire, with forklifts and so on running of it, we had to get boards down and pin off large areas quickly.

The sun has shone this afternoon and everyone seems brighter for it. The East side of the Great Pavilion is having its roof put on. Its looks fantastic laid out on the ground. Tomorrow it will start to be raised and the home of some 105 exhibitors will be well on its way.

Darren Saines of the Naturally Norway garden popped in to say hello and see if his magnificent pine tree would fit through the gates of the Bulll Ring entrance. I am happy report it will and his sponsor will be happy to hear that too! No exhibitors until Wednesday, so one more day to get things sorted in readiness for their arrival. I will be happy when they arrive, then we are really in business.
