First International Trials Conference 2010
Assessment of Ornamental Plants
6 – 8 July 2010

This is the first time that a worldwide conference with a focus on the testing of ornamental plants has been undertaken. This is the opportunity for breeding companies and organisations granting awards to plants to come together to discuss approaches to plant assessment.

The organising committee intend to initiate a thorough examination of the current state of ornamental plant testing worldwide, with the objective of clarifying the basis for selecting plants for ornamental purposes based on trials and how this is best achieved.

The Conference takes place from 6–8 July 2010 at Surrey University in Guildford, Surrey, UK, and the nearby RHS Garden Wisley.

There are three main themes to the Conference:

  • Assessment of plants in different environments
  • Comparison of processes and Award systems
  • Resolving nomenclature
